Wrapping Up the Week (8/7)!!!
What a Wonderful Start!
The first three days of school have been absolutely wonderful! There’s truly nothing like being a Lakeview Lion. The energy, smiles, and sense of community have filled our halls from the very first day.
We are so proud of how quickly our students have settled back into their routines. From the classrooms to the cafeteria to the playground, they’ve shown responsibility, kindness, and a readiness to learn. It’s been such a joy to watch friendships rekindle, laughter return to the building, and a strong sense of belonging grow stronger each day.
To our families, thank you for your partnership, positivity, and support. We’re looking forward to a year full of growth, learning, and special moments together.

⏰ NEW: Arrival and Dismissal Reminders-
Families, thank you so much for your patience, flexibility, and grace as we settle into our arrival and dismissal routines. Transitions like these always take a little time, and we truly appreciate your support each day.
During the first few days of school, we began dismissal a few minutes early to help establish routines. Thanks to everyone's cooperation, the process has gone so well that we're ready to return to our typical dismissal times for each grade level as they report to their designated dismissal locations.
To help us continue improving the process, we've included a few key reminders below, along with a quick refresher on our traffic pattern. Please take a moment to review them—every small effort helps keep arrival and dismissal safe and efficient for all of our students and staff.
Arrival Reminders

Car Riders (Grades K–6):
If your child arrives after 9:35 AM, please park, walk them into the main office, and sign them in to document their tardy.Adults should remain in their car during drop-off. A staff member will assist your child with getting out of the car on the passenger side, if needed.
This helps keep traffic moving safely and efficiently for everyone.

Early Learning Entrance (Preschool, Pre-K, and Siblings):
If arriving after 9:30 AM, please park at the main entrance and walk your child into the building. Early Learning teachers return to classrooms at 9:30 and will not be available to greet students at that door after this time.
If it’s after 9:35 AM, you’ll also need to sign your child in at the main office .Adults should walk their child to an adult. Adult

Early Learning Families and Siblings Reminders:
All Early Learning students and their siblings who exit through the Early Learning entrance/exit are called to their dismissal location at 4:00 PM.
To help with a smooth and timely pickup, please plan to arrive as close to 4:00 as possible. This will give you enough time to exit the lot before bus traffic begins at 4:15 PM.
🧡NEW: Safety Reminder-
Next week, students will review our school safety expectations, watch the district safety video, and participate in our first Evacuate (Fire Drill) and Shelter (Tornado Drill) of the school year. We will also conduct our first Lockdown Drill in September.

As many of you know, Lakeview is proud to be a certified STEM school and we’re continuing to grow in this work each day. Our vision, Rooted in Nature, Growing in STEM, reflects our commitment to connecting students with both innovative thinking and the natural world around them.
We aim to focus on bringing STEM to life through outdoor learning. Whether it’s through instructional investigation outdoors, nature walks, or designing solutions to real-world problems, our students are learning to explore, design, and care with purpose.

Take a moment to ask your child about:

How we show CORE in different places like the cafeteria, recess, hallways, and restrooms.
Talking about these helps reinforce our positive school culture.
🩺NEW: MCCSC Health Services-
Moving forward, MCCSC Health Services will be partnering with SchoolCare to manage and provide access to real-time student health information to parents/guardians and appropriate school staff members. SchoolCare is a leading student health record platform used by hundreds of schools across the country. It adheres to both FERPA and HIPAA regulations to ensure the confidentiality and security of your student’s health information.
Parents and guardians should have received an activation email to complete student health registration paperwork. The email will come from support@caredox.com. In order to provide the best care possible to your student in the school health office during the upcoming school year, and to ensure that we have the most up to date medical information on file, we kindly ask that you complete the health registration forms as soon as possible.
Please follow these steps to create your SchoolCare account and complete your student's health registration forms:
Check your inbox! Use the email invite that’s sent to you from support@caredox.com and click on the link to begin.
Create a password and log into your SchoolCare account.
Once you have logged in, you will see “My Family.” Click on the orange sign-up button to begin registration for your child.
Please note, if your student was enrolled previously in another school corporation that utilized SchoolCare, you will maintain that account for MCCSC, and you will receive an email from noreply@schoolcare.com to submit your child’s digital health forms.

🧡 NEW: Join Us for Our First PTO Meeting!
Our first Lakeview PTO Meeting is Wednesday, August 12, at 6:00 p.m. in the Lakeview Library.
We're trying something a little different this year in hopes of increasing parent participation, and we'd love to see you there! To help our custodial staff continue their evening cleaning and building preparations, and to keep the building secure, we ask that you please do not bring children to this meeting. This will also allow everyone to focus on the business at hand.
A PTO flyer is coming home with students today. The only update is that our Fall Dine to Donate has now been scheduled for September 21.
We hope to see you on August 12!
🎤NEW: Calling All 6th Graders!
Is your 6th grader interested in being a Daily Roar Host? Students received the sign-up link in class yesterday!
Be sure to ask your child if they signed up and encourage them to take advantage of this fun leadership opportunity. We'd love to have our students help share the Daily Roar with the Lakeview community!
