We are so excited to welcome our Lakeview families! We have an overwhelming response of approximately 450 RSVPs, so we want to make sure everyone is prepared for what to expect.

🚨 IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL LAKEVIEW FAMILIES

This information is for everyone, whether you are attending Donuts with Grownups or not.
With such a large number of families arriving and leaving before the start of school, traffic around Lakeview will look different than a typical morning. Our goal is to keep everyone safe while navigating the event and our regular school arrival process.

IF YOU ARE ATTENDING:  

🚗 PLEASE CARPOOL IF YOU CAN!

If you are attending Donuts with Grownups, please carpool whenever possible. With approximately 450 RSVPs, every vehicle we can eliminate from the parking lot will help!
We also ask everyone to please be patient and flexible as we work through the increased traffic. I will be outside with one of our district SROs shortly before 8:15 a.m. to help direct traffic and parking. Please follow our directions when entering the parking lot.

🅿️ PARKING

There will be additional parking available in the grass if needed. However, please only park in the grass if directed to do so by an SRO or me at the entrances of our parking lot.
Our main objective is to keep the lanes open for buses and regular car arrival. Please do not park or stop in a way that blocks these lanes.

⏰ FOR FAMILIES ATTENDING DONUTS WITH GROWNUPS

• Doors open at 8:15 a.m.
• The event time has been adjusted from 8:30–9:15 to 8:15–9:15 a.m. to help accommodate the large crowd.
• Donuts will be available in both the cafeteria and gym.
• Families may mingle in the eating areas until they are ready to leave, or they may exit through the main entrance or the Early Learning entrance/exit at Door 6 to enjoy the playground.
• If you go to the playground, your child must remain with you until you leave the event.
• If you leave at 9:00 a.m., you must escort your child to the main entrance and bring them to the auditorium, where staff will supervise students until the 9:15 bell.
• If you stay until 9:15 a.m., you must bring your child back to either the main entrance or Door 6 when the bell rings. Your child will enter the building from there and transition to their classroom for the school day.
• The main hallway doors will remain closed and locked during the event.

🚦 LEAVING THE EVENT

Families will have two options:
OPTION 1: Leave at 9:00 a.m.
You may bring your child to the auditorium, where staff will supervise students until the 9:15 bell. This option is intended to help families beat the traffic.
OPTION 2: Stay until 9:15 a.m.
You may stay with your child until the 9:15 bell. When the bell rings, say your goodbyes and head to your car.
Please be aware that families choosing Option 2 may need to sit in their cars for a few minutes while our regular arrival process wraps up. We anticipate traffic being back to normal around 9:30 a.m.

FOR FAMILIES NOT ATTENDING

If your child is coming to school as usual and you are not attending Donuts with Grownups, please know that if your child is a car rider, arrival may take longer than usual.
The increased number of vehicles and pedestrians around the building may cause some delays. Please allow yourself extra time and be patient as we work to safely navigate both the event and regular school arrival.
Students who are not participating in Donuts with Grownups but need school breakfast will receive grab-and-go breakfast through the kitchen and eat in their classrooms.
Extended Day will be housed in the library during the event.

We know this is a lot of people for one morning! Our goal is for everyone to stay safe, be patient, and be flexible as we navigate Donuts with Grownups alongside our normal school operations.
Thank you in advance for carpooling when you can, following staff and SRO directions, allowing extra time, and giving one another a little grace as we work through the morning.
