Wrapping Up the Week (10/2)!!!

Posted Date: 10/02/26 (04:00 PM)

What a Week at Lakeview! 🦁

What a week at Lakeview! We had a couple of evening events, including our rescheduled Open House for Mrs. Scrogham and Mrs. Bodie and the Meet the Teacher event for Mrs. Dean’s new class. Thank you to all of the families who were able to rearrange your schedules and make time to visit with us. We loved having you in the building!

Not to mention the power outage we experienced on Monday! We had a few hours of learning in the dark, but our staff and students continued with “business as usual” and did a great job rolling with the unexpected change. I’m always proud of how our Lions handle the unexpected!

We also had our CORE Tunnel today! Congratulations to all of the students who were recognized for showing our CORE values and being great examples of what it means to be a Lakeview Lion. We are so proud of you!

And the busy days continue next week with our 5th graders heading to the well-known Bradford Woods for their overnight adventure. Parents, be prepared for some very tired kiddos returning to school around noon on Wednesday! Miss Sandy will send a ParentSquare message when the bus leaves Bradford Woods so families know when to expect them.

We know our 5th graders will come home with plenty of memories, stories, and hopefully a little sleepiness mixed in!

And don’t forget that our BIGGEST PTO event of the year is next Friday, October 9! We hope to see our Lakeview families there for an evening of fun, games, activities, and plenty of Lion pride! 🦁

🚨NEW: IMPORTANT- Dismissal Reminder Changes

We have seen an increase in dismissal issues due to changes that were not communicated to the teacher or office, so we want to make sure everyone knows the best way to communicate a change.

  • If you know about a change in advance, you may contact your child’s teacher through ParentSquare.

  • If plans change during the school day, please call the office directly. Our teachers are busy teaching and may not see a ParentSquare message before dismissal.

    • All dismissal changes must be communicated to the office by 3:30 p.m. on the day of the change.

  • Please do not rely on telling your child about a change. Student messages cannot be accepted as an official dismissal change.

🎓 NEW: STEM Highlight- LOT Seniors Visit 5th Grade!

Our LOT seniors visited our 5th graders today to help prepare them for their upcoming Bradford Woods adventure! This was a great opportunity for our students to connect, collaborate, and learn from others—important skills that extend beyond the classroom and are at the heart of STEM learning!

Final results from last spring's ILEARN summative assessment in English/Language Arts, Mathematics, and Social Studies are now available!

I shared a ParentSquare post on Wednesday, and your child should have come home with their unique access code and information for accessing their results that same day.

Please keep this code in a safe place, as it will remain your access to your child's results from year to year.
